Who Are We?

Entomology is the study of insects. People who are interested in insects are called entomologists. People are interested in insects for a wide variety of reasons. Insects are important for pollinating many crops, producing products like honey and silk, controlling harmful plants and other insects, serving as food for other animals and are scavengers and decomposers... above all, insects are beautiful and fascinating.

Objectives and Organization

The objectives of the Entomological Society of Saskatchewan are to stimulate public awareness of the significance of entomology and to work in conjunction with other societies with similar interests. Memberships are available to anyone interested in insects. Members include amateurs, students and people employed by universities, governments (municipal, provincial, federal) and industry.
